Joy of Food
through
Sensory Education

Helping children become more confident, adventurous and healthy eaters

Our Core Initiatives

Empowering educators and families with sensory food education

Educator Outreach

We believe just as children are taught how to read and write, they need to learn ‘food literacy’ that will help them become more confident, adventurous and healthy eaters.

We engage with the early childhood educator community in Singapore with lesson plans, resources and training via the five senses. Our resources and training aim to bridge collaboration between educators and caregivers in a child's food education.

Easy to Use
Parent Resources

We understand the struggles of picky eating and the early years of eating as a family.

We take the latest research on how kids develop their food literacy through their five senses. We know your time is valuable. Our guides on instagram break complicated concepts into bite-size pieces you can try right away.

Focus on Whole Foods & Sustainability

We believe in minimizing processed foods and additives in our diets while maximizing the consumption of whole, natural ingredients.

Sensory food education also provides excellent learning opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM).

We celebrate local and regional produce, challenging ourselves to make mindful, sustainable choices and reduce food waste.

Revolutionise the way Food Education
is taught

Maximise the developmental potential of all children in Singapore through food literacy

The rasa project is a grassroots initiative started in Singapore, by Mei Wan and Jon. "rasa" means taste in Malay, paying tribute to local and regional produce in Singapore and South East Asia.

As parents to a young toddler, they were encouraged by their son's early curiosity towards food, and wanted to learn and discover more about how science, culture and education can shape our approach to food.

Mei Wan formally trained as a food engineer and started her career as a pastry chef. She most recently worked in the food tech and sustainability space. In anticipation of setting up rasa rasa, she became a member of the SAPERE network, an international food education non-profit where she engages with leading researchers, educators and nutritionists to bring best practices to the region.

Jon has spent most of his career in tech and payments. He dreams of owning a fruit and vegetable farm one day with the best papayas and guavas you have ever tasted.
